University of Chicago Leo Melamed Prize for Outstanding Research in Finance - May 9, 2013

Tarek Hassan, the University of Chicago Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics, yesterday was awarded the coveted Leo Melamed Prize for Outstanding Research in Finance for his paper "Country Size, Currency Unions, and International Asset Returns."  The essay showed that differences in the size of economics explain a large fraction of the cross-sectional variation in currency returns.
